Since the elastic layouts overall sizing is based on the user's default fonts size, they are more unpredictable. Used correctly, they are also more accessible for those that need larger fonts size since the line length remains proportionate. 2. Sizing of divs in this layout are based on the 100% font size in the body element. If you decrease the text size overall by using a font-size: 80% on the body element or the #container, remember that the entire layout will downsize proportionately. You may want to increase the widths of the various divs to compensate for this. 3. If font sizing is changed in differing amounts on each div instead of on the overall design (ie: #sidebar1 is given a 70% font size and #mainContent is given an 85% font size), this will proportionately change each of the divs overall size. You may want to adjust based on your final font sizing. */ .oneColElsCtrHdr #container { width: 78em; /* this width will create a container that will fit in an 800px browser window if text is left at browser default font sizes */ background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0 auto; /* the auto margins (in conjunction with a width) center the page */ border: 1px solid #000000; text-align: left; /* this overrides the text-align: center on the body element. */ } .oneColElsCtrHdr #header { background: #DDDDDD; padding: 0 10px 0 20px; /* this padding matches the left alignment of the elements in the divs that appear beneath it. I (PokeMatt) am still pretty psyched about the whole thing, and decided to write up some extra album information in case anyone cared.

Prior to the full length, we released three EPs. The first was put together just in time for our show at MagFest VII. This featured Tornado Man, Yoshi's Island, Tal Tal Heights and Chrono Trigger. The second two EPs happened when we realized our goal of finishing the full length in time for Otakon was a bit lofty. We put together 2 discs, each one previewing the exclusive tracks and also featuring 2 other new recordings (8 tracks all together between the two). It's worth noting that any songs that have appeared on more that one CD have been remastered for their second (or third) appearance, some with new layers.

In keeping with the Pokemon theme, we decided to make 2 simultaneous albums, each with exclusive content. Before you go thinking we're trying to rip you off, note that between our Facebook and MySpace pages you can hear all of the exclusive songs for free, and if you do decide to get both albums, you can do so at a discount. They are designed to roughly look like the original Pokemon game boxes.

So what is different on each one?

- Most notably, Gallant Green has our two Legend of Zelda Tracks, and Bomber Blue has our two Mega Man tracks
- The "widescreen" cover was cut in half. Gallant Green has the left half and features Dom and JD. Bomber Blue has the right half and features Chris and myself. Speaking of the cover, JD brought us some amazing line art, as always, and the incredibly talented Talyor Fischer colored the piece.
- There is an exclusive skit on each album, hidden before their correlating tracks. We find them funnier than we probably should.
- Each version has a different track order. The "featured" band members of each version paired off and came up with a track list without knowing what the other pair had come up with.
- The TrackDex for each version is missing information for the tracks not included on that album.
- The Gallant Green version has Trainer Bios for JD and Dom, with Chris and myself on the Bomber Blue version. Again the art credit goes to JD and Taylor.
- The screenshots on the back of the box show the featured instrument pokemon facing off against the pokemon from the other version. Gallant Green has the player controlling Batter and Major, with Batter's move list shown, and Bomber Blue has the player controlling Shreddler and Minor, with Shreddler's move list shown.

Now onto the tracks!:

Link's Awakening - Tal Tal Heights ~ Overworld
One of our earliest songs. Though it's always had the Overworld intro, originally it had a different ending, we later added the Overworld outro.

A Link to the Past - Dark World
Another of our older songs. Not much to say on this one, though we have plans to extend the song with SECRET MUSIC.

Mega Man 9 - Tornado Man
Hoping to beat other bands to the punch, we learned this song not long after the game was released. Magfest-goers were the first to hear our version. On the album version there are some extra layers of Chris playing guitar during the breakdown.

Mega Man X - Storm Eagle
Possibly our first complete song, and probably the one most covered by other bands already. Oh well, it's still a fun song to play. And yes, we know eagles don't say caw.

Cave Story - Plantation
After introducing the other members of the band to the game, it was pretty easy to convince them to play a song from it. On the album, there is an extra layer of me playing part of the lead with a saw lead. If you don't know why this is called Plantation instead of Opening, you need to play further.

Star Tropics - Dungeon
Yet another of our old songs. After trying it a few ways, we decided to give this song an island feel. Hope you kept your manual!

Kirby's Dreamland - Sand Canyon 2, Green Greens
This is a song Dom and I would play before the band formed. Since I've played more Smash Brothers than Kirby, I based the chord progression for Sand Canyon off of the orchestrated Fountain of Dreams version. JD and Chris quickly picked it up, and it found its way onto our set list.

Yoshi's Island - Athletic
Another song from Dom and my dueling piano days that was quickly assimilated into Rare Candy's repertoire.

Final Fantasy IV - Boss Battle
Though we all know the song, this was the most recent one to be practiced together as a band. We decided in the studio to totally redo it as a Surf Rock song. We played the song the new way only twice, keeping the second take. The edits were kept to a minimum to maintain the loose and fun feel of the song. The only people to hear our older (more standard) version of the song were those that found us at Otakon. JD says "We're dead!" after the battle, in case you couldn't hear it. Jason (our audio engineer) also says "End of CD" after our take, in reference to that being the last song we needed to record. Since Chris and my track list had this as final song, this was left in for Bomber Blue. Sorry Gallant Green, YOU'RE MISSING OUT!

Street Fighter II - Intro ~ Ken's Theme ~ Ryu's Theme
We learned this one specifically for our show at the SFIV Tournament 4th round finals. On the album version there is an extra layer of JD playing guitar during the intro.

Pokemon (1st Gen) - Trainer Battle, Gym Battle
One of our newest songs. We felt bad being a Pokemon themed band and not having a Pokemon song, and we were determined to rectify this for the Full Length. On the album, there is a very small section where I play the lead, since after a bajillion takes, Dom still didn't have it. This is what we are referring to in the beginning of the Bomber Blue skit.

Chrono Trigger - Undersea Palace ~ Schala's Theme ~ The Last Day of the World
Probably our favorite song (and yours too). Chris complains that he doesn't like bringing both Bass and Guitar gear, just to play one song on guitar. We tell him to learn more songs on guitar (now we at least have FFIV too). On our first EP, the strings were mistakenly left out when transitioning into Schala's theme. They have been re-added, along with some other tweaks. The reason for this might have been that originally we had fun using effects to make the drums for that part sound as Phil Collins as possible. We toned the effects back down to a respectable level for the album versions. That sound at the end of the song is Chris screaming into his pickups. This was left in for the EP, but was edited to be mostly unnoticeable. On the Full Length it is all up in your grill.

> home

Welcome | News | Shows | Media | Store | About

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ?
